Creating Email Sequences

Build automated email flows that nurture your contacts and drive conversions.

Overview

Email sequences are automated series of emails sent to contacts based on triggers and delays. They help you stay top-of-mind with prospects and guide them through your sales funnel.

How Sequences Work

1. Trigger

The initial event that starts the sequence (e.g., signup, purchase, form submission).

2. Email 1

Immediate response email, like a welcome message or confirmation.

3. Delay

Wait a specified time (days, hours, or minutes) before sending the next email.

4. Email 2

Follow-up content, additional value, or call-to-action.

5. Conditional Branch

Based on opens, clicks, or other engagement metrics.

6. Repeat or End

Continue the sequence or mark it as complete.

Sequence Rules

  • Delays: Can be set in days, hours, or minutes
  • Conditional Logic: Send different emails based on engagement
  • Management: Pause, resume, or cancel sequences per contact
  • Personalization: Use contact data for dynamic content

Example Welcome Sequence

Day 0: Welcome Email - Thank them for signing up and set expectations
Day 3: Product Introduction - Show how your solution helps
Day 7: Case Study - Social proof and success stories
Day 14: Special Offer - Limited-time discount if no purchase yet

Best Practices

  • Keep sequences focused on one goal (welcome, nurture, re-engagement, etc.)
  • Test different delays to find optimal timing
  • Always include unsubscribe links and sender information
  • Monitor engagement metrics and adjust content accordingly
  • Use A/B testing for subject lines and content variations
